Orange County Sheriff’s detectives arrested two men in connection with a drive-by shooting near Beniot Juarez Circle in Apopka on Sunday. Investigators said that two victims were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
According to investigators, one of the shooters, known as “Tony” and a gang member, got into a dispute with one of the victims earlier on Sunday evening at a party at 3005 Yothers Road. “Tony” allegedly called the victim and threatened to “shoot up” his residence, investigators were told.
Following the shooting near Beniot Juarez Circle in Apopka, several witnesses on the scene observed a red Ford Expedition as the suspect vehicle. The witnesses told investigators that shots were fired from the rear passenger’s side by a rifle-type weapon into a crowd in front of the victims’ residence. Two persons were transported to ORMC in serious condition.
Detectives said that some of the witnesses on the scene were also gang members and admitted to knowing “Tony”.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting. They are:
- Marcial Antonio SosaRivera, 18 years, known as “Tony”, an affiliated gang member and the driver of the vehicle
- Hadnner Donely EstradaPaz, 36 years, the shooter.
Both, SosaRivera and EstradaPaz have been charged with attempted first degree murder with a firearm. They were booked into the Orange County Jail, without bond.
