Draft Global Lounge Fights to Keep Liquor License

Is Draft Global Beer Lounge & Grill in trouble?

Draft Global Beer Lounge & Grill, 333 West Church Street, Orlando

According to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation – Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, the answer is yes.

An Order filed by the State of Florida’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco on January 13, 2012, revoked the facility’s liquor license for “failure to comply with the statutory requirements,” effective January 20, 2012.

An Amended Order, filed January 25, set aside the revocation, after a “Respondent’s” letter dated January 23, demonstrated compliance with the statutory requirements for the month of January so far, and requested an extension of time to meet the requirements of its license.

The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco has given the lounge until April 20, 2012, to get its act together and undertake a Division audit for the first quarter of 2012.

If the audit for the months of January, February and March finds the lounge in compliance with the special restaurants requirements, then a civil penalty of $1,000 will be imposed to resolve the matter.

Located at 333 West Church Street Station, directly across from the Amway Center, the lounge and grill appeals to the downtown business crowd, as well as, the pre-game post-game crowd and serves pork shanks and fried mac and cheese, among other fare.

Attempts to reach the owner of the lounge for a comment on this story were unsuccessful.
