The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has partnered with the Florida Blue Foundation to present the Florida Blue Concert Series, which will showcase outdoor community concerts in the Center’s plaza for the 2014-2015 inaugural season.
This series aligns with the Dr. Phillips Center’s mission to celebrate all performing arts experiences and embrace every walk of life, by offering a wide array of genres including pop, rock, country, R&B, funk, Latin, classical and big band music, as well as special programming for families and children. Set in the outdoor plaza space which can accommodate up to 3,000 attendees, the Florida Blue Concert Series will present local and national acts and will be free and open to the public.
A leader in Florida’s healthcare industry, Florida Blue’s mission is to help people and their communities achieve better health, and now that mission has expanded to improving the quality of life in Central Florida by becoming a partner to the Dr. Phillips Center. This partnership designates Florida Blue as the first programming partner for the performing arts center’s opening season.
“Florida Blue is honored to support our community by partnering with the Dr. Phillips Center to offer these outdoor concerts,” said Tony Jenkins, market president Central Florida region for Florida Blue. “This amazing facility will be a place where creativity, innovation and individual expression abounds for many years to come – and we are proud to be a part of this world-class performing arts center where all are welcomed to come and enjoy.”
“This partnership represents another facet of our fundraising efforts, where we are able to partner with corporations to support specific initiatives of the center,” said Kathy Ramsberger, president of the Dr. Phillips Center. “Florida Blue’s support of this series helps position the outdoor plaza as an ideal gathering place for the community. We thank Florida Blue for becoming our first programming partner and look forward to working with them to present this series.”
The Dr. Phillips Center is scheduled to open in Fall 2014.
