An Orlando woman was shot and is brain dead as a result of a domestic violence incident early on Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting happened at the Bordeaux Apartments in the 1700 block of Mercy Drive on Orlando’s west side.

33-year-old Reginald Greenwich has been charged in the shooting of Kim Moore, 29.

Around 5:20 a.m., Orlando Police Department patrol officers found Moore at the bottom of the stairway to the building, with a gunshot wound to the head.  She was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition where she is said to be brain dead.

Greenwich and a child were inside the apartment where the shooting took place, when investigators arrived. It is not clear what led up to the shooting, but police recovered a gun inside the apartment.

Greenwich, Moore’s boyfriend, has been charged with first degree murder-domestic violence and possession of  a firearm by a convicted felon.

Greenwich was booked into the Orange County Jail later on Sunday.
