DOH: Orlando Doctor Barred from Practicing, 19 Others Suspended

WIKI - Adderall

An Orlando doctor is one of twenty health care practitioners whose medical licenses have been restricted or suspended, the Florida Department of Health (DOH) said Thursday.

Mark McDonough, of the 900 block of Vassar Street, Orlando, is believed to have used pre-signed blank prescription forms which he exchanged with another doctor to obtain controlled substances, such as Adderall.

According to the Order of Emergency Restriction of License:

“Dr. McDonough violated this trust by using pre-signed, blank prescription forms to obtain controlled substances, and by pre-signing blank prescription forms to facilitate Dr. J.M.’s ability to obtain controlled substances.”

“Dr. McDonough’s continued unrestricted ability to prescribe controlled substances poses an immediate, serious danger to other physicians, to patients and to Dr. McDonough himself.  Nothing short of the immediate restriction of Dr. McDonough’s ability to prescribe controlled substances will suffice to protect the public from the danger posed by Dr. McDonough.”

McDonough’s license was suspended on September 3.

Other violations of the remaining 19 suspended or restricted include, standard of care, drug use or student loan defaults.
