DOH Launches New Website with Nursing Ed Programs

The Florida Department of Health (DOH) today announced the creation of a new website to compare nursing education programs.  Through an interactive search, users can now view each degree program, including practical nursing education programs, as well as professional nursing education programs that result in a diploma, associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree.

The new website also enables the public to compare nursing programs by viewing the program’s status (approved, accredited, or approved/probationary), the program’s accreditation status and accrediting body, graduate passage rates, and retention rates for students tracked from program entry to graduation.  The website offers consumers the opportunity to participate in a customer satisfaction survey and provide feedback regarding the new website.

To make the site as easy to find and use as possible, including customers who may have already bookmarked various links to the DOH website, a number of options are available. These include:

o From www.FLHealthsource.com, click on either the ‘Citizen/Consumer’ or the ‘Licensee/Provider’ button and then select the link to ‘Compare Nursing Education Programs’
o From the License Verification website, http://ww2.doh.state.fl.us/IRM00PRAES/PRASLIST.asp, when viewing the record for a single nursing education program and clicking on the ‘Nursing Program’ tab
o The Board of Nursing RN/LPN School Information web page at http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/nur_edu_info.html
o The Board of Nursing web page at http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/index.html and
o The MQA Home page at http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/index.html
