Partnering with headlining artist, Jovanotti, Diego Garcia brings his distinctive vocal and poetic union to the Greater Central Florida area. Scheduled to perform Tuesday, October 9th at the House of Blues, Diego promises to be a music making contender for years to come so enjoy the intimate setting while you can… before his following demands larger and more complicated venues.
An accomplished artist, Diego began his career on the indie music scene as front man for the indie act Elefant. After going solo and with nowhere to hide, Diego Garcia’s “Laura” was recognized by NPR as “one of the top 25 albums of the year (so far).” A soulful musician, the album bulleted numerous Top 10 lists of 2011 from DJ’s at influential radio stations across the country, including David Dye (World Café/NPR), Raul Campos at KCRW (Los Angeles), and Dan Reed from WXPN (Philadelphia), along with major features in Billboard, Vogue, SF Gate, OC Weekly, and Philly Inquirer.
Drawing from his Argentine roots, Diego explores his Latin heritage with a sound that conjures the spirit of 1970’s troubadours like Sandro and Jobim as well as singer-songwriters like Leonard Cohen and Harry Nilsson. Throwing singer-songwriters such as Leonard Cohen into the mix is an honor and privilege few are able to attain… and yet, Diego gained this on his initial album; truly a rare gift shared only for the extremely gifted.

Truth be known, until recently, I had never heard of Diego Garcia and only became familiar in preparation for his HOB concert. In less time that it takes to say “Diego Garcia has a new single, “You Were Never There,” and I can’t stop listening to it… The tune has lush string arrangements, guitars, and vocal intonation. It’s romantic and blissful,”(Paper Magazine) I was sold.
