Detectives Seek Help Identifying South Florida Strong-Arm Robbery Suspect

Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit released surveillance video of a strong-arm robbery that occurred in Lauderdale Lakes on January 6th. Investigators are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the individual involved.

At approximately 5:10pm that Saturday, BSO deputies responded to a strong-arm robbery call near the 3600 block of West Commercial Boulevard in South Florida. When deputies arrived on scene, an employee told investigators an unknown heavyset subject wearing all black entered the store.

He was carrying a blue bag and demanded money from the cash register. According to investigators, the employee stated she initially refused to comply but then opened the register out of fear after the subject became verbally aggressive.

Video surveillance of the crime shows the subject reaching over the counter and removing hundreds of dollars from the cash register before exiting the store. The subject then flees the location in a white vehicle of unknown make or model.

Detectives believe the same subject may have committed a similar crime in the Town of Davie.

Anyone with information on the strong-arm robber’s identity or location is asked to contact BSO Robbery Det. Armando Enrique at 954-321-4233 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch App. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), online, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.
