Deputy Busted Window, Driver Arrested for Fictitious Tag Twice in 10 Days

A Central Florida deputy busted a window to arrest a driver with a fictitious tag, the second time in 10 days.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s office, Earl Myers was arrested again after driving around with a fictitious tag and refusing to comply with deputies.

Arrested 10 days prior for the same thing, Myers was out on bond when a deputy saw his truck with a “DOT Exempt” tag bearing “PR1V4T3.”

During the initial stop, Myers stated he was “traveling” and refused to provide the deputy with his license, registration, and insurance. So the deputy called in additional units and assisted Myers out of the vehicle by breaking the window of his locked driver’s side door.

According to local law enforcement, 41-year-old Myers was charged with possession of a counterfeit license plate, driving without a license, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, and resisting without violence. He also received several traffic citations for failure to provide his license, registration, and insurance, as well as tint violations.
