Several tips from alert residents led Orange County deputies to arrest a man who they say took pictures under girls’ skirts, at a Best Buy store on September 18.
44-year-old James Jones, of Rivo Alto Drive was taken into custody and charged with two counts of video voyeurism. He has also been charged separately with cultivation of cannabis.
Investigators say, Jones walked into the Best Buy located on 8530 South Orange Blossom Trail and began looking for young victims. On at least two occasions he was spotted by store clerks squatting and placing a cell phone up the skirts of girls. He fled the store after he was seen taking the photos.
Deputies released surveillance video to the public and received several tips from residents, including one from a neighbor who recognized Jones.
A search warrant conducted on Jones’ home, where he lives with his mother, turned up the clothing he wore when he victimized the girls. Investigators also found a black cell phone believed to be the one Jones used.
Investigators also found 21 plants of cannabis, less than 20 grams of cannabis and drug paraphernalia in a shed next to where Jones lives. He admitted that the plants belonged to him.
Jones was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail.
