Orange County deputies are continuing their investigation into the death of an 19-month-old toddler last month.
Investigators say, Nyana Vargas, 19 months, was unresponsive when she was brought to the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital by a babysitter on September 6th. She was placed on life support, but died the following day.
The Medical Examiner has ruled that Nyana died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck, investigators said.
Nyana’s mother was at work when the babysitter, who has not been identified, brought her to Arnold Palmer Hospital. Investigators would only say that the babysitter lives in the 6800 block of Edgefield Lane.
No one has yet been charged in Nyana’s death.
