Deputies Searching for Rape Suspect

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who attempted to rape a woman Friday night on Gatlin Avenue in downtown Orlando.

According to OCSO:

On July 23, at approximately 11:00PM the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a sexual battery attempt.  The victim, a white female, was walking on the sidewalk on Gatlin Avenue by Barber Park when an unknown suspect (white or Hispanic) male, wearing all black, black ball cap, about 5’07” tall and medium build, grabbed her from behind and forced her into some bushes. He attempted to remove her clothes but she fought back and the suspect fled on foot.

Deputies upon arrival at the scene set up a perimeter, but were unable to track down the man.

The victim suffered no injuries. Detectives are continuing with their investigation.
