Orange County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for three suspects who they believe stole over $20,000 worth of metal beams from an Apopka church last Wednesday. Another suspect has been identified by an eye witness to the robbery.
According to investigators, four black males loaded several metal beams from the Pentecostal Church at 2012 Clarcona Road on to a flat bed trailer on Wednesday afternoon, according to an eye witness. The trailer was attached to a brown Chevrolet Blazer with Florida tag number # J03-XAW. Detectives say that the Chevrolet had been reported stolen out of Sarasota, Florida and two subjects had been arrested earlier for the stolen vehicle.
Detectives say that they do not believe the two suspects who stole the vehicle were involved in the theft of the more than $20,000 value of the metal beams from the church, as they had traded the vehicle for crack cocaine earlier, the suspects admitted.
A witness who was alerted by someone else raced to the church to discover that the theft of the metal beams was in progress. When she tried to confront the four men, they got into the stolen vehicle and drove off with the metal beams.
The witness was able to identify one of the men. He is Jermaine Brown, 37, years.
