Deputies Retrieve Weapon Used in T-Mobile Armed Robbery

Orange County deputies recovered from a retention pond one of the weapons believed to have been used in an armed robbery of a T-Mobile store on Saturday afternoon.

Investigators are not releasing the names of the three suspects now in custody, in connection with the T-Mobile robbery because it is believed they are linked to at least 4-5 other robberies.

The trio – two Hispanic males wearing masks and armed with guns – entered the T-Mobile store on South Orange Blossom Trail on Saturday just after 5:30 p.m. The men ordered the half-a-dozen customers and workers inside, at gunpoint, to a back room and proceeded to take cell phones and cash.

Investigators say, unknown to the suspects, two T-Mobile employees ran out the back door to a nearby food restaurant and called deputies.

Deputies apprehended the driver of a getaway car parked in the back of the store, along with two armed and masked men as they attempted to flee across South Orange Blossom Trail, toward a retention pond.

A statement from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Monday, photo lineups of the suspects with the victims are being undertaken, following which the names and mug shots of the men will be released.
