Deputies, Movers Refuse to Evict 103-Year-Old Atlanta Woman

Atlanta Sheriff’s deputies and movers, ordered by a Deutsche Bank branch to evict a 103-year-old woman and her 83-year-old daughter from their home yesterday, apparently didn’t have the courage to go through with it. According to reports, when deputies and movers showed up at the house where the pair had lived for 53 years, they turned away.

Vita Lee, who will be 104 years old in three weeks, had this to say:

“Please don’t come in and disturb me no more. When I’m gone you all can come back and do whatever they want to.”

  1. Thank goodness the police did not follow orders. This is so sad. I am sure the tea party folks are furious that two African-American women are living rent free in their own home, trying to survive until death. What is the tea party folks like to yell towards the poor: Let em die, Let em die.
