Orange County Sheriff’s detectives busted a meth. lab at the Campus Crossing Apartments on Green Badger lane on Wednesday night, after an employee alerted that illegal chemicals were being processed inside. Deputies have arrested two persons so far, one of them a 21-year-old UCF student.
Detectives responded to the Campus Crossing Apartments at 12128 Green Badger Lane, apartment # 1170, Orlando, around 5:30 pm on Wednesday evening, following a call that illegal substances–methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and more–were being processed at the apartment.
Detectives evacuated the entire apartment complex of about 50 tenants while the OCSO Meth Lab Unit secured a search warrant for entering the apartment. Meth Lab deputies put on protective gear and breath apparatus, given the toxic nature of the environment. During the search, investigators discovered the meth was being manufactured at the apartment. They also found 13 grams of meth, 6 grams of cocaine, 31 grams of Vicodin and 28 grams of cannabis.
Detectives arrested William Cecil, a 21-year-old white male. Cecil is a UCF student majoring in chemistry. He was charged with several counts:
- Manufacture of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Methamphetamine (13 grams)
- Possession of Cocaine (6 grams)
- Possession of Vicodin (31 grams)
- Possession of Cannabis (28 grams)
While at the scene, another white male, visiting the apartment was arrested for trafficking in Oxycodone. The name of the second suspect is, Steven Brian Bardhill, 25 years.
Bardhill told detectives that he was using Oxycodone to help relieve pain in his right foot and that the pills had come from a female by the name of “Stephanie”, whom he met a few says earlier. Bradhill said he had no other information on the woman.
Detectives cleared the scene around 2:30 am, early this morning. Most tenants spent the night in other apartments or at area hotels.
