Orange County deputies are investigating the shooting of a man near a home where a number of marijuana plants were subsequently discovered.
Investigators received a 911 call just before 11:00 p.m., and went to a home at 243 Ashbourne Drive, off Old Winter Garden Road, where this found a man shot multiple times in his upper body. The black male, in his 30s, provided no detail to detectives about the shooting, but only described the suspect as a black man, in dark clothing.
The unnamed victim was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center with life-threatening wounds.
Investigators said, a check of the residence turned up no additional victims or suspects, but a stash of over 50 marijuana plants, in plain view.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence and recovered the marijuana.
Investigators said, the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear.
