Deputies continue to search for a man who went diving for golf balls on Monday afternoon, but has not been seen since.
43-year-old David Voiles has not been seen or heard from since Monday, around 1:00 p.m., after he spoke with his mother, investigators said.
Voiles was hired by Sherman Hills Golf Course to retrieve golf balls from the bottom of the lakes along the golf course. He has worked at the golf course diving for golf balls for the past two years and has completed about a dozen dives, investigators said.
Hernando deputies, including their aviation and marine patrol units and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office dive team are actively continuing their search for Voiles.
A statement from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said that the dive team had not entered the water yet.
