Deputies Investigating Murder-Suicide in Orlando

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies believe that Ryan Ray Scurlock, 24 years, killed Jennifer Lynn Roqueta, 21, at the Woodbury Road Apartment Complex on Saturday afternoon, and then killed himself at the Shooting Gallery at 2911  39th Street.

According to deputies:

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received several calls from acquaintances of Ryan Scurlock, the suspect, to check on his well-being after he sent phone text messages indicating he was distraught.  Upon receiving this information deputies responded to an apartment complex in East Orange County address where Scurlock lived, but he was not present.  At this location, deputies met a roommate and his girlfriend who were also concerned for Scurlock’s safety.

While at the East Orange County location, deputies became aware there was a shooting incident at the Shooting Gallery at 2911 39th Street. Other deputies secured the investigative scene at the Shooting Gallery for homicide investigators and forensics.

Deputies then moved their investigation to an apartment at 1700 Woodbury Road in order to conduct another well-being check. Deputies entered apartment # 2111 at 1700 Woodbury Road, Orlando, where they found a deceased person.  Detectives later identified the deceased as Jennifer Lynn Roqueta, a 21-year-old, white female.

Detectives later said that Ryan Scurlock, 24 years, a white male, was found dead at the Shooting Gallery.   Detectives said that Roqueta and Scurlock deaths were a murder-suicide.

Deputies are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances leading to this murder-suicide.
