Deputies Investigate Suspicious Death of Orlando Man

An Orlando man, who went missing early last month was found dead yesterday in Kissimmee, Polk County Sheriff’s deputies said.

George Rivera, 44, of Creekwood Drive in Orlando, had been reported missing to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on January 9, 2011, by family members. Rivera, who had not been seen or heard from since then, was found by a passerby yesterday, February 7.

Rivera’s body was located approximately 40 feet off of Sweet Pea Court in Kissimmee.  Deputies say, the body was in an advance state of decomposition and it is believed Rivera died as a result of violence.

Deputies are appealing for the public’s help in this suspicious death investigation.

No further details are being released at this time.
