Deputies Identify Man Shot in Domestic Dispute

Orange County deputies have released the name of the man who deputies opened fire on last Friday, after a domestic incident.

Marcos Bonia - suspect

Investigators said, 37-year-old Marcos Bonia brandished a firearm when deputies turned up at his home in the 700 block of Century Drive, in connection with a domestic dispute.

Bonia refused to obey lawful commands and deputies exchanged gunfire with him.

The deputies involved in the shooting are: Sergeant Juan Rodriguez and Deputies Larry Quinn and Danny Kavanaugh.

It is not clear how many rounds were fired by the officers and if Bonia did shoot at deputies.

Bonia was taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Bonia was booked into the Orange County Jail and is being held without bond. He has been charged with domestic violence battery, robbery (sudden snatching) and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

A statement from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said, that the deputies have been place on administrative duties for at least one week and a Professional Standards Section review will be conducted on the incident.
