Deputies have identified the woman found dead inside a cleaning business on American Boulevard early on Monday morning.
The deceased is 50-year-old Kim Wesela. She was found dead inside the Superior Cleaners at 2131 Americana Boulevard early on Monday.
Investigators would not say how Kim died until an autopsy is completed by the medical examiner.
Deputies found Wesela dead just after 7:00 a.m. inside the cleaning business.
Homicide investigators have been gathering evidence all day and talking to other operators of Superior Cleaners, known to Wesela.
In February earlier this year, Wesela was the subject of a domestic battery incident believed to have been carried out by her boyfriend, Marshall Surrency.
According to the incident report, Wesela told detectives that she was battered by Surrency on February 7, after the two got into an argument. She also told investigators the two had been drinking vodka, as they watched the Superbowl, when a verbal argument developed. She said Surrency began hitting her and detectives confirmed there was a laceration over Wesela’s left eye and other injuries to her face. Wesela and Surrency both lived at a campsite near Superior Cleaners at Americana Boulevard.
Witness also told investigators, Wesela had told them she had been beaten by Surrency.
Surrency, when contacted by investigators, denied the allegations that he had battered Wesela or that he knew her.
But, on February 16, Surrency was arrested at Wesela’s workplace at the dry cleaners. He was booked into the Orange County Jail.
Investigators say, at this stage, they are making no connection between this domestic battery incident and Wesela’s death today, as they await the outcomes of the medical examiner’s report on her cause of death.
