Orange County Sheriff’s deputies have identified the person killed in the shoot-out at the Woodridge Park Drive apartment complex on Monday and released the names of four persons arrested near the scene of the crime. No one has yet been charged with the homicide.
Deputies said, when they arrived at the shooting scene at 7225 Woodridge Park Drive near Dorscher and Apopka-Vineland roads, they found two victims, 30-year-old Calvin Southhall and 31-year-old Vincent Carpino, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Southhall was taken to the Health Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Carpino was transported to a local area hospital in stable condition.
While it is not yet clear whether the shooting was as a result of a drug deal gone bad, deputies recovered large amounts of cash, handguns and a search warrant executed, led to the seizure of several vehicles.
Four men caught fleeing the scene at the time of the shooting were arrested. They are: 28-year-old Andrew Johnson, charged with resisting arrest and tampering with evidence; Victor Renald, 20 years, charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and 29-year-old Andrew Nelson and Dion Dean, 28, both charged with felony possession of cannabis.
Deputies said, no one has yet been charged with Southhall’s murder, as the investigation continues.
Southhall’s killing is the 7th homicide to date in Orange County.
