The body of a decomposing female was found in a wooded area along State Road 532 on Friday morning and efforts are underway to determine if it is that of missing teen Alexandria Chery.
A maintenance worker discovered the body around 9:30 a.m., off the Osceola-Polk Line Road, also known as State Road 532, between Reunion and Championsgate near I-4, about one mile where Orange County deputies were searching for the missing teen.
The Medical Examiner is working to identify the body.
Chery, 16, of Hawthorne Hills Place in Orlando, was last seen around 7:00 a.m. on Monday, by her mother, Rosalie Joseph, in the Hawthorne Grove Apartments near the intersection of Old Winter Garden Road and Good Homes Road. When Joseph returned home from work around 6:00 p.m., Chery was no where to be found.
Investigators found blood spatter on several areas of the residence.
The prime suspect in Chery’s disappearance is Sanel Saint Simon, a longtime boyfriend of Alexandria’s mother.
Saint Simon was arrested on Wednesday on charges of giving a false information to law enforcement and attempted destruction of evidence. He remains in the Orange County Jail.
Meanwhile, deputies continue to process a black Pontiac vehicle it is believed Saint Simon was driving and in which Alexandria was spotted. Investigators are appealing to anyone who might have seen Alexandria in the vehicle on the day or evening she disappeared to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
As the search for the missing teen continues, anyone with information on Alexandria Chery’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at # 407-836-4357.
