Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies have confirmed that the body found Thursday is that of Nicole Fields, a missing mother of two.
After searching for one week, deputies discovered Fields’ body around 12:00 noon yesterday in a wooded area behind an abandoned house on the Polk County side of Poinciana. Fields’ body was found not far from the home of her ex-boyfriend, Steven Louis, 28.
Fields likely died from multiple stab wounds according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, wdbo.com reports.
The Osceola mother, who was last seen in the company of Louis when she went to a custody hearing involving their two-year-old child, vanished on November 3.
Louis also left the area and investigators caught up with him in the Florida Keys last week-end, where he was found driving Fields’ car. He was extradicted and brought back to Osceola County for questioning and was locked up without bond on an aggravated battery charge related to the disappearance of Fields.
Louis is expected to face additional charges shortly, for the murder of Fields.
