A 9-year-old child who said she was sexually attacked on Tuesday night, made up the story.
Orange County Sheriff’s deputies who responded last night to the Forest Edge Apartments where the alleged sexually battery occurred said, the child was not attacked, nor the victim of a sexual battery.
The child fabricated the story, deputies said.
A statement from the Sheriff’s Office said, a suspect is not being sought.
It is not clear why the child made up the story nor if restitution will be made sought for the law enforcement resources expended over the false report.
