Deputies have arrested 10 suspects and seized 15 pounds of marijuana in an undercover sting in the Alturas area.
Responding to tips received, Polk County undercover detectives on Wednesday, responded to 80 Foot Road in Alturas where they observed a man, later identified as 36-year-old Joshua Prevatt, at two different houses conducting what appeared to be drug purchases. Investigators confiscated two mason jars containing 41 grams of marijuana which Prevatt said he had just purchased.
44-year-old David Gandia, was also arrested in the undercover sting and investigators seized three pounds of marijuana, packaged for sale and $5,000 in cash, for a residence at 944 80 Foot Road in Alturas. Gandia told investigators that the cash came from the profit from marijuana sales. Deputies say, Gandia then took them to another location on Lake Millsite Road where he turned over 12 more pounds of marijuana packaged for sale.
Returning to a home at 6902 State Road 60, deputies arrested 33-year-old Jason S. Turner, whom they had seen earlier.
All three, Prevatt, Turner and Gandia have been charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Seven other people were also arrested in the undercover sting.
