Deputies: Attempted Murder Suspect Turns Himself Into Jail

A man who slashed his estranged girlfriend’s throat during a domestic dispute on Wednesday morning on Orlando’s east side, has turned himself in to Orange County Sheriff’s deputies.

Eduardo R. Marino, 45, was arrested and charged with attempted murder on Thursday, around 10:19 am, after he turned himself into deputies.

According to deputies, investigators received a call from an attorney stating that he have been hired by Marino’s family.  A detective working the case was able to persuade the attorney that he should advise Marino to turn himself in, given the severity of the crime.   Marino, early on Wednesday morning, had slashed his estranged girlfriend’s throat after an argument erupted in the parking lot of her home at 7813 Silverbrush Circle.   Marino had fled the scene after the incident.

The victim was transported to ORMC in critical condition and deputies advised today that her condition was downgraded from critical to serious.  The name of the victim has not been released.

Meanwhile, Marino was arrested without incident and booked into the Orange County Jail.  He has been charged with attempted murder.

The investigaton is ongoing.
