Law enforcement officers have arrested one of the suspects who gunned down the son of a video store owner, in an armed robbery in Haines City on Friday.
28-year-old Jacroy Shamar Waddell, of Haines City was arrested on Sunday at the Red Roof Inn, East Busch Boulevard in Tampa, just after 12:15 a.m., for shooting and killing 20-year-old Jaime Magana, Jr. He has been charged with robbery and first degree murder in the shooting death of Magana
Waddell was arrested without incident and booked into the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
Detectives of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit were assisted by U.S. Marshals and Tampa police in Waddell’s arrest.
A second suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jadarius Latra Wilson, of 2204 Navel Circle N., Haines City, is still on the loose. Officers have an open warrant for his arrest and he is considered armed and dangerous.
Waddell and Wilson entered the Video Latino store at 1719 Hinson Avenue in Haines City on Friday around 9:30 a.m., ordered Magana to open the cash registers, all the while brandishing a handgun. One of the men placed Magana in a chock hold and eventually shot and killed him. A customer found Magana dead and contacted the Haines City Police Department.
Wilson was wearing wore a long sleeve, dark colored hoodie style shirt, jeans and camouflage style cap with text, at the time of the armed robbery.
