Central Florida deputies recently arrested a New York murder suspect in Daytona Beach.
After actively searching for the suspect, the Volusia County Sheriff’s office announced double murder suspect Scott Mitchell was in custody in Daytona Beach.
The person who called in the tip earned $10,000, according to local law enforcement.
The double murder suspect was arrested outside McDonald’s at International Speedway Boulevard and Tomoka Farms Road in Daytona Beach.
Deputies were actively looking for the suspect wanted in a double homicide in Binghamton, New York. Scott C. Mitchell was considered armed and dangerous. Early reports were that he was in a vehicle and was believed to be on foot, possibly in the West DeLand area.
