Deputies Arrest Forest City Attempted Murder Suspect

Deputies arrested a man early on Wednesday morning believed to be responsible for shooting two other men after an argument erupted on Tuesday night on Lake Weston Drive, off Forest City Road.  Corey Jackson, the suspected shooter was taken into custody at this apartment and booked in the Orange County Jail around 4:00 am.

Investigators responded to 2372 Lake Weston Drive around 10:00 pm on Tuesday night where they found two men shot outside an apartment.   Eye witnesses told deputies that they heard a loud argument prior to hearing gun shots. The shooter fled the scene before deputies arrived and a k-9 track abruptly ended near the shooting scene.

Both victims were taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center and are expected to survive their injuries.   The identities have not been released.

Witnesses also told detectives that the suspect frequented the area where the shooting took place and regularly sold movies in the parking lot of a business near shooting scene.

Good eye witness information and a photo lineup led to the arrest of the suspect, Corey Jackson, 38 years, without incident, early on Wednesday morning at his apartment at 1051 Lee Road.

Jackson was booked into the Orange County Jail around 4:00 am on Wednesday morning.  He has been charged with attempted felony murder with a firearm and with aggravated battery with great bodily harm using a firearm.  Bond  has been set at $10,000.

Deputies are continuing with their investigation.
