Detectives rounded up 41 suspects during an investigation focusing on persons who download and distribute child pornography, and those who fail to maintain their state-mandated sexual offender or predator registration, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.
“We are committed to protecting our children, and we are very passionate about ensuring that those who prey on children are held accountable. If you download or distribute child pornography – you are contributing to the victimization of children, and you go to jail. We monitor every sexual predator and offender registered in Polk County. If you fail to comply with the registration requirements, you go to jail,” said Sheriff Grady Judd.
During the six-months operation which spanned the period July – December 2012, the following suspects were arrested for Possession or Distribution of Child Pornography, Victimization of a Child, or for otherwise violating their terms of probation for previous child pornography charges:
