Good investigative work between the Orange County Robbery Unit and the TAC Surveillance Squad let to the apprehension of two convicted felons who deputies believe are connected to several commercial robberies, including an attempted armed robbery of the Cisneros Jewelers on Dr. Phillips Boulevard, a little over one week ago.
Darren Brown, 19 years and Ronald Green, 21 years were arrested on Tuesday, December 21, without incident during a tactical takedown.
Deputies believe that Brown and Green attempted to rob Cisneros Jewelers on 7512 Dr. Phillips Boulevard in Orlando on December 13. During the armed robbery attempt, shots were exchanged between the 71-year-old business owner, Carlos Cisneros and the two gunmen. Cisneros, who was shot at by one of the gunmen, told deputies he returned fire and believe that he shot one of the suspects.
Today, deputies said that, Brown had a recent gunshot wound to his left hand and Green also had a recent gunshot wound to his shoulder that potentially matched injuries from the Cisneros Jewelers robbery involving gunfire.
When Brown and Green were apprehended on Tuesday night, both were in possession of firearms and cannabis. Deputies also located a large flat screen TV which they suspect might be contraband from other burglaries.
Deputies said that both Brown and Green are convicted felons.
