Democratic Senate Candidate Campaigns in Central Florida

On Friday, July 5th, Democratic Senate candidate Debbie Mucarsel-Powell will campaign in Central Florida.

The Democrat will speak to Latino voters about the importance of protecting freedoms by retiring Republican Senator Rick Scott this November.

Mucarsel-Powell plans to attend the Alianza Center First Friday BBQ event in St. Cloud on Friday, July 5th at 3:30pm. The Alianza Center says it serves the Puerto Rican and Hispanic communities of Florida by fostering leadership in the areas of the environment, healthy living, the arts and culture, and civic engagement.

The group’s event is going to have food, drinks, board games, music, politics and more. The full event will go from 3pm-5pm and the location will be Pavilion A at Ralph V. Chisholm Regional Park (4700 Chisholm Park Trail, St. Cloud, Florida 34771).

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell recently met with Latino community leaders in Miami to discuss how to make Florida more affordable for working families, ensure Floridians can afford to stay in their homes, and create more good-paying jobs across the state. The Democrat also met with voters in Jacksonville to discuss the fight to protect reproductive freedom and lower costs in Florida.

Her campaign said that Florida’s affordability crisis began while Rick Scott was Governor, and as Senator he has done nothing to lower costs for working families across the state.

“Not only did Rick Scott write the plan to raise taxes on middle-class families and steal seniors’ hard-earned benefits – he did it while enriching himself by hundreds of millions of dollars for personal gain,” said Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. “Latinos see right through corrupt politicians like Scott who hold on to power like Maduro. That’s why they support my candidacy. I am making a promise to every single Florida family that they will finally have a champion and an advocate in the Senate with me. I’ll never stop fighting to protect and expand opportunities for every single Floridian.”
