Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings paid tribute on the 12th anniversary, to the men and women who died or were injured in the devastating terror attacks on September 11, 2001.
In doing so, Demings and the rest of OCSO recommitted to protecting the community and homeland.
“Our promise is to never forget that nearly 3,000 brave souls died from the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and in a plane crash in rural Pennsylvania,” he said.
Demings also reminded all Orange County residents and community partners to remain aware that the threat of terror still exists, but together the likelihood of attacks can prevented or reduced.
“Citizens should be aware of their surroundings, report suspicious activities and provide accurate information in a timely manner to law enforcement,” said Demings. “In short, if you “See Something, Say Something.”
Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the 9/11 victims, he added.
