Physical challenges – cinnamon, salt and ice, and eraser – where students video tape themselves engaging in difficult, dangerous and outlandish “challenges” are sweeping the country.
Local 6 recently uncovered Deltona High School students carrying out similar dare challenges, after spotting videos posted on YouTube earlier this week. Particularly disturbing was the eraser challenge, where students rub their skin until a few layers come off and then put hand sanitizer on the area until it burns and bleeds.
Volusia County School Board officials, contacted by Local 6 said, they were unaware that students were engaging in these potentially harmful and risky challenges.
