Debbie Turner Cancer Care Center announces local health fair

 

The Debbie Turner Cancer Care and Resource Center has teamed up with the 1st United Methodist Church of Apopka and Florida Hospital to announce a Community Health fair for Thursday October 17th , from 1:00 to 5:00PM.

The health fair will be held at the 1st United Methodist Church of Apopka located at 201 S. Park Ave in Apopka and will include various local health care providers as well as vendors and organizations dedicated to improving the health of our local community.

The Cancer Care and Resource Center has teamed up with the Florida Hospital Healthy 100 Women’s Mobile coach bus to provide FREE Mammogram screenings for all women within the local Central Florida area. Most insurance will be accepted on-site and the Debbie Turner Cancer Care and Resource Center will cover the $35.00 cost of self-pay individuals that do not have insurance coverage. Only women needing Mammograms screenings, which are routine, annual exams for women with no current breast problems, will be eligible for this event.

If you have had previous mammograms at a facility other than a Florida Hospital or Florida Radiology Imaging location, you are asked to bring your previous breast images with you. Screenings mammograms are performed to women 35 years of age and older. If younger than 35 a physician referral is required for a diagnostic mammogram which cannot be performed on the mobile unit.
