Davenport Motorcyclist Killed after Being Hit by Car

A motorcyclist was killed on County Road 545 on Monday, after being struck by an SUV, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. near Sinclair Road in Osceola County.

Troopers said, a Lexus SUV, driven by Delin Feng, 56, of Orlando was heading north on CR 545, waiting to make a left turn onto Sinclair Road when it crossed into the path of the motorcyclist.   Darren Strother, 51, of Davenport, who was riding a 2005 Honda Mitsubishi, was traveling south on CR 545 crossing Sinclair Road.

Strother was thrown from the motorcycle, as the Lexus SUV struck the front of the bike.  He was taken to Celebration Health Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Neither Feng, nor a 15-year-old passenger, sustained any injuries as a result of the crash.

Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
