Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will on Friday, join District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz and the Orlando Police Department to certify the Danube Apartments as part of the City’s Crime Free Multi-Housing Initiative. So far, in the City, six other apartment complexes have already been certified through this program.
Through the City’s new Crime Free Multi-Housing Initiative, rental property owners and residents are partnering with the Orlando Police Department to eliminate crime in multi-housing rental properties.
To become a certified Crime Free Multi-Housing complex, the property owner must complete a three step program that includes specialized training and security enhancements. Additionally all new residents will be required to sign a lease amendment that states residents will not engage in criminal behavior. Each night certified complexes receive updates of residents arrested in the complex.
