Newly appointed Commissioner Lui Damiani, (District 3), will host a fun-filled back-to-school event on Saturday, August 14th, providing FREE backpacks and school supplies for elementary and middle school students residing in District 3 (while supplies last).
Participants would be able to take part in games, obtain information about various services and enjoy tasty snacks. Health screenings will also be available for students and parents.
The event will be held at Renaissance Senior Center, 3800 S. Econlockhatchee Road, Orlando, 32829 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Students must be present to receive a backpack and they must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. This event is open only to students of District 3.

Damiani was appointed last week by Gov. Charlie Crist to replace the vacancy created by the suspension of Mildred Fernandez who was formally charged in May with 14 counts, including racketeering, bribery and grand theft.
