Dad abandons baby near Universal Parking Lot, Arrested

A man who left his four-month old baby in the bushes, in an employee parking lot at Universal Studios last Saturday, has been arrested, Orlando Police Officers (OPD) said.

Charles W. Ghode--arrested

According to OPD:

Police officers were dispatched on March 13th to Major Boulevard and Cara Van Court in reference to a missing four-month old baby. Upon arrival at the scene, they were informed by an off-duty officer who was working at Univeral Studios that a white woman was trespassing in the employee parking lot there.

The woman, Ashley E. Gaskin, who was evidently looking for her baby in the Universal Studios parking lot, was subsequently taken by the off-duty officer to Major Boulevard and Cara Van Court, where she and her boyfriend, Charles W. Ghode, 29 years, the father of the baby live.

Police officers learned that, when the off duty officer arrived with Gaskin at the location, Ghode immediately asked her for the baby and then took off. Once police caught up with Ghode, he informed that he had run to a neighbor to see if the child had been left there.

Subsequently, police received a call via radio that the baby was located in a stroller between the bushes, along the fence line of the Universal studios employee parking lot.  The baby was found in good condition and was later taken to Dr. Phillips for further examination.

Ghode was arrested by police for child neglect and bond was set at $1,000.00
