Cypress Creek Junior Recognized Nationally for Volunteer Work

Cypress Creek High School junior, Elizabeth Tran, has been recognized as a Distinguished Finalist by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.

Elizabeth has dedicated countless hours to helping teens, like herself, realize how easy it is to “Go Green.” She started a non-profit organization to encourage young people to “Go Green” and show them how easy it is to make changes in their lives to save the environment.

Elizabeth has a long list of accomplishments. These include:

  • President’s Volunteer Service Award from the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation.
  • Volunteers for Clean the World Orlando which is a non-profit that collects, recycles, and distributes recycled hotel soaps and bottled amenities.
  • 2011 Miss Central Florida Cities Outstanding Teen participating in the Miss Miracle Charity Pageant. The pageant benefits the Children’s Miracle Network.

Elizabeth is also an outstanding student at Cypress Creek High School, with a weighted grade point average (GPA) of 4.97.
