Cuba, unveiled on Monday, new economic and social policy guidelines which will see the promotion of foreign investment and an expansion of private sector development.
But, according to news reports, the country will not renounce the socialist system adopted close to 50 years ago after Fidel Castro, its revolutionary leader took control of the island.
Castro, as recently as mid-October, said that the “Cuban model” no longer works.
