Detectives caught up with 29-year-old Danny Cruz, the second suspect and brother of Richard Cruz, wanted in connection with an armed home invasion and rape of a mother in Poinciana on Monday night.

Danny Cruz was transported to the Polk County Jail late on Thursday night.

The brothers will have a video first appearance at 12:30 p.m. on Friday from the South County Jail in Frostproof.

The Cruz brothers’ grotesques crimes shocked Kissimmee, with many saying they has never seen anything like it before, according to news reports.  It appeared too, that the crimes were random and “crimes of opportunity.”

On Thursday, detectives arrested 33-year-old Richard Delgado Cruz of Kissimmee and obtained a warrant for his brother, 29-year-old Danny Delgado Cruz, who is still at large.

Both Cruzs are being charged with: one count armed Robbery, one count of armed burglary of an occupied dwelling, one count possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and one count of sexual battery.

Investigators said, the brothers approached a 20-year-old man outside his home, forced him inside and ordered him to tie up his father. The suspects demanded money and jewelry during the armed home invasion. The Cruz brothers then tied up the man’s mother, forced her to perform oral sex, then raped her. One the brothers then got a bottle of bleach and inserted it into the woman to hide the evidence.

The Cruz brothers ransacked the house taking $400-$500 in cash and $4,500 worth of jewelry.

Both wore ski masks, zippered “hoodies,” brandished firearms and carried a machete, investigators said.

The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. on Monday night in Poinciana.

“We are very grateful to our law enforcement community, especially the Kissimmee Police, for helping us locate and arrest Danny Cruz. The two men responsible for these heinous crimes are now behind bars, which will hopefully give the victims some solace. We hope the Cruz brothers spend the rest of their lives in prison for what they’ve done.” said Sheriff Grady Judd.
