Crop Damage from Cold Weather, $115 Million and Counting

Florida’s citrus crop is estimated to have suffered $115 million in damages from the frigid temperatures through December 20, a new report compiled by the Florida Department of Agriculture states.

The report shows that the cucumber, eggplant, snap beans and peppers were nearly wiped out.  Cabbage, sweet corn and squash all suffered heavy losses.

Assessment of crop damage from the cold weather earlier this week has not yet been factored in.
