Former Gov. Charlie Crist leads Gov. Rick Scott by double digits in the 2014 race for Florida governor, according to a new poll released by Public Policy Polling, Tuesday.

The poll finds that Crist, who has not yet declared his candidacy, leading Scott by 50-38 percent, with 12% of voters saying they are undecided.

It also finds Scott upside down on his job performance, with 55% disapproving of the job he is doing and only 33% approving.  The same poll finds that Crist has a 43% favorability rating against 42% who view him unfavorably.

Meanwhile, the only declared Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Nan Rich almost draws even with Scott, 36-37%, with a large proportion of voters, 27%, saying they are unsure for whom they would vote.  Rich has an 8% favorable and 23% unfavorable rating among voters, with 69% not sure, the poll finds.

The survey was conducted during the period September 27-29, among 579 Florida voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1%.
