Against the nation’s top statistical defense, Alabama’s offense started fast and rolled to an early 9-0 lead and 271 first-half yards, its most yards this season against any SEC opponent. Tailback Mark Ingram wound up topping 100 yards in a nice showcase for his Heisman hopes, and quarterback Greg McElroy was solid throughout.
