The Crimson Tide came back one year later to trounce the Gators, 32-13 today at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. It is Crimson Tides’ first SEC title in 10 years and they now move on to play in the national championship on January 7th, 2010 in the Rose Bowl in California.

Against the nation’s top statistical defense, Alabama’s offense started fast and rolled to an early 9-0 lead and 271 first-half yards, its most yards this season against any SEC opponent. Tailback Mark Ingram wound up topping 100 yards in a nice showcase for his Heisman hopes, and quarterback Greg McElroy was solid throughout.
