Troopers are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on Wednesday night on Edgewater Drive near Forest City Road in Orange County.
FHP said a 2002 Ford, driven by Andrea Davis, 26, of Casselberry, was heading northbound on Edgewater Drive on the inside lane around 9:00 pm, when a pedestrian, northbound on Edgewater on the outside southbound lane, ran across the inside southbound lane. The pedestrian then continued across the inside northbound lane, violating the right of way of the Ford.
The front of the vehicle struck the right side of the pedestrian, Quintin Mitchell, 28, of Apopka. Mitchell was taken to ORMC where he died.
Troopers said that Mitchell had been involved in a previous incident, involving Eatonville Police Department, as a passenger in a vehicle they were attempting to stop at another location.
Davis, and her passenger, Malisa Maldonaldo, 39, of Apopka, were not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
