Just Another Tele-Town Hall Meeting on Health Care

On Thursday, September 10th, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Congresswoman Corrine Brown will be hosting a Tele-Town Hall meeting*** on health care for area residents.

“It is evident to me that our nation, and particularly Florida, is in desperate need of comprehensive health care reform. Indeed, many, many of my constituents, and minorities nationwide from the African American and Hispanic communities, make up nearly half of the estimated 50 million Americans without health insurance.  In Florida overall, nearly 21% of our residents are uninsured. Moreover, health care costs are unsustainable:  Medicare and Medicaid may be near bankruptcy by 2017, and it is estimated that one-fifth of our nation’s GDP will go towards health care spending in less than 10 years.  That said, the importance of this issue cannot be overstated, and I encourage all third district residents to listen in and voice their opinion to shape this debate on Thursday evening,” Brown said.
