Cops Identify Man They Killed on Hiawassee Road

The armed robbery suspect, shot and killed by Orlando Police officers on Kirkman Road on Tuesday afternoon, has been identified. The names of the officers involved in the shooting have also been released.

Acrifa Kamaal Soman, 21, was killed after he fled the scene of an armed robbery in the 2400 block on south Kirkman and after he refused to comply with police requests.

Soman committed the armed robbery with several persons, employees and customers, inside the game shop around 2:11 pm on Tuesday afternoon, then fled the store. His vehicle was subsequently located at Hiawassee Road and Colonial Drive.   According to OPD, the Soman resisted and was shot and killed by an officer.

The deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on administrated leave.  They are:

Paul S. Evancoe, who has been with OCSO for nearly three years, was assigned to West TAC at the time of the shooting.
Herb Todd, a 14-year veteran, was assigned to the K-9 UNIT
Cedrick A. Hinkles, has been with OCSO for six years and was assigned to West TAC
Bryan Fischer, has been with OCSO for close to 5 years and was assigned to West TAC

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is leading the investigation into the shooting.
